A chemical society. I don't get it.

There are so many things that we don't know about the effects of after a number of years. Why do we as a society TRUST so many things that are new without even a single second thought? Why can RETSIN sell breath mints? Why did the name "Nutrisweet" sell so well, even to people who aren't having a problem with their weight? Why are we so willing to be guinea pigs to new chemicals?

Why are so many people just fine with putting tiny amounts of things into their bodies that are poisonous if taken in larger amounts? --and I'm not talking about injecting it type of larger amounts--I'm talking things like flouride.

There are some people who don't even fully rinse out their mouths after they brush their teeth. I don't get it. Let's go eat some dishsoap, it will be good for me..... Roll Eyes

Why are we so accustomed to chemical things? Is it the way they're advertised? Is it some strong almost religious belief that chemicals are the way to a better society? What is it? Why are people so trusting? Why do people start smoking cigarettes STILL to this day? Why do almost all toothpastes contain tooth whiteners?

Have a tiny headache? Take this advil. Oh now your feet hurt. Take this advil. Oh now my XXXX hurts. Take this advil.

I don't know how to eat properly. Take this cholesterol pill. I don't know how to cut down on the things I need to. Take this blood pressure pill.

Oh, my teeth are so brown from the caffeinated beverages I put in me several times a day. Use this whitening strip.

There's some sort of chemical answer to just about anything.

My house smells. Use this Glade plugin so you won't notice it. I'm starting to get sinus problems. Take this Claritin and you won't notice. Now I'm getting anxious--the Claritin has side effects. Take this Prozac.

Sorry, I went on for a while, but I'm just trying to make a point.
