http://www.bored.com/crazylaws/index.htm

Here are some excerpts:

Quote:

? You cannot chain your alligator to a fire hydrant.
? In Alaska it is illegal to whisper in someone's ear while they are moose hunting.
Arizona
? A man can legally beat his wife, but not more than once a month.
? Donkeys cannot sleep in bathtubs.
? Mohave County: A decree declares that anyone caught stealing soap must wash himself with it until it is all used up.
? You may not have more than two dildos in a house.
Arkansas
? A law provides that school teachers who bob their hair will not get a raise.
? At Arkansas State University two people cannot hold hands while standing in a doorway unless they belong to a union.
? The Arkansas legislature passed a law that states that the Arkansas River can rise no higher than to the Main Street bridge in Little Rock.

You get the idea....

Silliness! The only thing is, I betcha that most police officers wouldn't try to enforce these laws. (Except maybe the alligator law.) For one, I bet most police officers aren't even aware of most of these laws. And I can't imagine a 911 dispatcher sending police because two people are holding hands in a doorway or because your neighbor has more than 2 dildos. lol.

Have you seen the whole list? There are some that are sillier than what I posted--I hadn't even gotten through the A's yet.. Smile

You're right about officers probably not going after those kinds of things, but if they didn't like someone, they could always tack those on as extra charges....

Thats true. Like for instance, I could be ticketed for not having a garbage can in my car :-/

Yep, and a whole bunch of things they don't take off the books probably for that very reason. No, that's me being paranoid. But still.... but no. But still... LOL

North Carolina

All couples staying overnight in a hotel must have a room with double beds that are at least two feet apart. Making love in the space between the beds is strictly forbidden.
It's against the law to sing off key
While having sex, you must stay in the missionary position and have the shades pulled
Because people were using them for cheap furniture, it's now illegal in North Carolina to take and sell labeled milk crates
A recent proposal that ministers walk the beat with police officers in Belmont, N.C., notes "the ministers will carry a Bible instead of a gun."

I am a little embarrassed that I reside in the above state. :-[

There are still a number of places where spitting on the sidewalk is illegal.
