Why do most shows that have a family always make the fathers out to be total bufoons? I know that a lot of guys are bufoons, but why almost every show--provided it's a family?
Is it so when kids are watching, and their fathers are being stupid, that they can say to themselves, "Dad's not really that bad"?
What is it?
