Just wondeirng if with one screen it is possible for me to somehow hook up the computers so that the second computer is viewed as an "external drive." Doubtful, but I thought I would ask.

Yes, with a network if it's running windows.
You'll be able to access each computer by the computer's name. One of the computers I use is Kizzumey, and to access it from another computer on the network, I just have to type "\\kizzumey" in explorer, without the quotation marks, and whatever part of the drive you want to be able to be accessible on the network, you can change to settings accordingly by simply going to whatever directory you want to share, right clicking, selecting "sharing and security", check the box "share this folder on the network", check the box "Allow network users to change my files", and after you go through that, the folder will be shared on the network by just typing \\whatever-your-computer-is-called\whatever-the-folder-is-called into explorer. You can do this to as many folders as you want.
Here's the tricky part--yeah, you thought it might have been THAT easy.... you PROBABLY have to configure some things first, and here's the OTHER thing as well--you MAY, I don't know for sure, but you MAY need XP Professional, not Home edition--again, I don't know this for sure. If you do want to set it up that way, let me know and I'll walk you through what needs to be done. It's not too hard.

So you connect yours through internet? Like, wireless?
That wouldn't work for me. My router only has room for one CAT6 and is not wireless.
Or do ou mean it is possible for me to connect computers through a USB cable? I would test it out right this second but I don't hav ea USB that has a USB head on both sides.

??? A "router" with only one port? That's probably not a router then... Can you take a picture of your router, or give me the model number?
I don't connect them through the internet--they're connected to each other as if the network cable were plugged directly from one to the other.

Okay. Yeah, you'd have to get a router. Just get a wired router, not a wireless one, and you should be able to do this very thing.
