Excellent Post! Smile

*EDIT I meant to grab your whole post, I can't believe how much I struggle with the quoting when multiple quotes are involved and I don't want to quote everybody. It's like some sort of anxiety kicks in when I look at it.

Well, in all fairness, the quote system seems really hard on the proboards engine compared to others. I am sure others have noticed it too. For some reason you can't just do
I'm Joe
and get the name on there.....don't know why not....but I am guessing it is a problem Kizzume will be able to address a while down the road when its on that other engine he has been talking about Smile

But yeah, I totally know what you mean!

Much of the Bible and Christian dogma in general can rightfully be considered hate speech by any sane individual. They just ignore it because if you label bigotry spiritual, everyone backs off and it's automatically sacrosanct, off-limits. They then can twist reality in bizarre contortions and try to make you out to be the oppressor then when you point this out. Slick.

I am sorry, but I am going to need some examples. If you can, I'd like for you to specifically give me examples of things Jesus said that can "rightfully be considered hate speech." You know, since Christ is the essence of the religion, if what you are saying is true, it shouldn't be hard to provide examples of hate dialogue he provided.

That won't be happening, so I suppose he'll rely on his fantastic ability to just start going on and on with the same dribble as usual.

Most of Christianity was invented by Paul, not Jesus. Paul is the essence of the Religion. Jesus is the made up figurehead. Jesus says very little in the Bible. It's almost all invented by Paul and the others. Their anti-gay Christian crusade is a good example of Christian hate speech, as is denying gay people jobs based on them being "sinners" who live an "evil" life style.

Christian dogma also entails the Old Testament, since most Christians use it just as such. The OT is nothing but hate literature.

So I'll take that as a no. No, you can't find anywhere where Jesus gives hate speech. Here is something to consider-- if Jesus is an invented figurehead of Paul, and Paul is anti-gay, why didn't he make Jesus that way too?

The old testament gives context for the new testament. The old testament DOES contain some awful things, but most of it is a description of the way that people lived their lives back then. It the old testament were to be followed to a tee, it would be about half as extreme as Islam, which is still pretty extreme, and it probably wouldn't be called Christianity.

Exactly. It wouldn't be called Christianity had there been no Christ. I am still waiting for proof that Christ made hate speech :Smile

Technocrat maybe doesn't have enough motivation to prove his point by pulling up some examples for you jq. So I'll tell you what Technocrat, I'll Paypal you 20 bucks when you pull up that hate speech from Jesus, the founder of Christianity. See the problem lies in representation. When you see people at funerals with signs that say "thank God for dead soldiers" or you see some guy on a street corner with a Bible saying "Aids, kills fags dead", you're not seeing Christianity. The proof of course, is that I won't be paypaling you anything, because you'll be drawing up nothing to cite. See how it works now? Thanks for playing.
