I was too busy to celebrate winter solstice...

I was so busy moving a friend of mine that I wasn't able to do any sort of formal celebration of winter solstice. I like the idea of celebrating it because it's something tangible--the shortest day of the year, but I end up missing it 3 out of 4 times.

I'm not even really celebrating Christmas at my home this year. I'm spending the day at my Aunt Kathy's.

I've got a tree and decorations, and there are some "token presents" so to speak under the tree--they're presents, but they're more of a symbol of giftgiving.

I am not doing any sort of celebrating this year. Call me a sour sport. It just does not feel the same with my husband away. I guess there is always next year. (We don't celebrate Xmas, but having the days off to spend time together is always nice.)
