This is the drawing:

Yes, the kid is messed up. Shooting someone with a happy face--yeah, that's kind-of sick, but I don't know about you, but I think the idea of the kid getting suspended for this is ridiculous. Send him to a counselor and notify the parents, but don't suspend the kid!

I'd say it is definite overkill, but I guess these days they just want to make absolute certain that gun violence of any sort is not to be tolerated. I guess the only thing that seems creepy about this drawing at all is that it names another kid. See, the thing is, I remember in 3rd grade I used to draw ALL KINDS of pictures of people with guns shooting at each other. I never owned a gun throughout my school years and definitely never threatened or shot someone. I just liked GI Joe and transformers a lot.....But I do remember at the time, my teacher expressing concern over me to my mother, and me being like "but they are shooting robots! ROBOTS!" Whatever the case, I didn't get suspended, and I also didn't shoot anyone in real life, so if I can be a case study, that would indicate this to be overkill.

I hope more stories come out about this particular incident because I really would love to know if there are other circumstances involved.

Yeah! Over-defensiveness strikes fear again!! Come on more and more PC! I hope that it will soon be a hate crime to not want your kindergarten child not to be part of the "some people have two daddies" speech. /sarcasm

I still haven't seen anything further on this story.

Yeah, the PC push is awful!
