Oh yeah. I read the book Fast Food Nation which detailed in great length the beginning of mcdonalds. Ray Kroc didn't come until way later, but I will agree with you that he had some genius ideas,( although I am not sure I agree with all them from a people's standpoint.) Particularly his idea that Mcdonalds is not a fast food business at all-- but a real estate business. "Selling burgers is just the easiest way for the franchisee to pay the rent," or something like that, is a famous quote of his. (Mcdonalds began buying up property and then when someone wanted to franchise it, they had to do it on land mcdonalds already owned, and therefore their lease agreement would actually be with mcdonalds, giving mcdonalds more money-- as they raised the lease 50% higher than it would have been if they didn't buy it-- and more power-- as they were now the landlords of the establishment.)

Man, that sure sounds messed, but--that's business in the U.S., a tradition of snake oil salespeople.

It was delicious.

I absolutely hate McDonald's! Their food is nasty and poisonous, and they give more money to the Republican party than any other fast food joint (no offense RSR).
So why do I eat there on average once a week?
I'm weak.

Big n Tasty w/cheese. The thing about McDonald's is their fries. I love them. They are the best of any fast food place, hands down. When they're hot, anyway. When they're cold they're the worst.

As for french fries, in my opinino the best come from DIck's or from BugerMaster. Sometimes Dairy Queen comes close.

Yeah they SMw/E is the only thing I eat there in the mornings. I've never heard of Dick's or BurgerMaster's. Are they local joints?

Dicks is. I am not sure about Burger Master. Hey, have you tried the breakfasts at Wendy's yet? They don't do that everywhere, but a location near my house is doing it, and it is GREAT. I like what they offer over any other breakfast sandwhich.
Honestly, the trans fat just doesn't sit well with my stomach. part of why I like wendy's so much is that they are trans fat free and I don't get sick there.

Wendy's is 70 miles away, so I don't eat there too often, lol.

Damn no! I wouldn't drive 70 miles for Wendy's. Obviously the reason why most people (I think) eat at any of these places is convenience, lol. And obviously 70 miles isn't very convenient.
As for milkshakes:
I actually REALLY like Burger king milk shake and fries
I give the thumbs down to jack in the box milkshakes-- too thick! I can't get it to flow through the straw!
Mcodonalds-- good, though not as good as burger king
Dairy Queen-- As good as burger king, better than Mcdonalds.
Dicks-- better than everything above
Wendy's-- As much as I like frostys, they just can't replace shake when I am in the mood for one.

Yipes. That reminds me of when I lived in Elma WA... well, it wasn't 70 miles, but it was 35 miles just to get to a grocery store that actually has a decent selection and fresh vegetables.
As for milkshakes--I like making my own. I'm the milkshake-meister. I bet I can make the best milkshake you've ever had.
But as far as fast food milkshakes--it has been over 20 years since I tried a Burger King milkshake, and 25 years since I had a McDonald's shake. I had my opinion about them then, and I doubt they've gotten any better, but maybe I'm wrong. I know that Burger King used to have the best fast food burgers--back when you got fresh, juicy flame broiled burgers--back when the Puyallup Fair actually got decent quality meat and you had the best burgers with fried onions ever. It's certainly not about good food anymore. Sorry--off subject.
I really like Carl's Jr and Burgerville shakes. I think Burgerville has the best fast food shakes. Unfortunately, there aren't any Burgervilles in this area. I'd have to travel 120 miles to get to one.
If you can include food courts at malls, I would have to say that Haggen Dasz (or however it's spelled) has the best shakes, but the last time I saw one of those was when I visited Atlanta Georgia. I would IMAGINE that Cold Stone Creamery has the best shakes around here--but I haven't tried their shakes yet--I'd like to. Baskin Robbins isn't too bad, but they're overpriced for the amount you get.

I stopped eating fast food on a regular basis years ago. Every once in a while, when I'm out and about, I'll stop in and eat someplace like Wendy's or Brown Bag Burger. And occasionally Burger King. Very rarely, I'll eat at White Castle. But mostly I restrict my fast food eating to Boston Market. It's been a very long time since I ate at McDonald's, and for good reason; the food is shit. After watching Supersize Me, I determined that I was going to cut back on the junk as much as possible.

Brown bag burger?
Boston Market?
Man, where do you live?!?!?
Anyway you're right about McDonalds-- it really is like what famers feed pigs. But it is worth noting that ground beef, no matter where it comes from, is the shitty part of the cow.
