My carpet is soooooooooooo clean. I borrowed an industrial strength carpet cleaner, and let me just say, it REALLY WORKS. Here I thought al the stupid puppy stains were going to mean I would have to pay for a new carpet when I moved out of my apartment, but lo and behold, EVERY STAIN IS GONE.
Just wanted to share the good news.

Hoover steam vac-- all terrain.
Dude, it is miraculous. I want to own one of these so badly now. I finished my upstairs today. Beautiful, just beautiful. I wish I could afford one of these to keep around the house-- its easy enough that I would probably do at least monthly treatments. But apparently this one was like $475!!!!! (We are just borrowing it.)

If I could just clean my carpet like this once a month, it would make me so happy. I am not a clean freak at all. But I really like having a clean carpet!

If nothing else but for the lack of dust and the lack of animal dander.

And I have plenty of both. Two cats, and a weiner dog!
One cat is Siamese though, and supposedly they have a different kind of dander which causes less allergies.
I usually take care of the allergies just fine with my normal vacum. I have a pretty badass vacuum really, it just isn't a carpet cleaner. (MY favcume though has a Hepa filter and cyclone allergen reducer which supposedly removes 98% of the all allergens!) I love my vacuum, but it want a cleaner, too.

Just googled it. Yeah I remember renting those out when I worked at home depot....
I don't know if that is better or not than what I used today. I was very very impressed with the steam vac!

Hardwood is great, but as far as keeping clean, you can beat linoleum. Oh wait--it's not called that anymore--what's it called--artificial tile floor--vinyl flooring--? anyway, I'm sure you knwo what I'm talking about--you can't beat that as far as being able to keep it really clean.
I really can't stand shag carpeting, or really long thick carpeting in general. My favorite type of carpet is industrial grade.

Yeah I use Lysol disinfectant for the linoleum. Love it. My upstairs bathroom SHINES. The only thing is the downstairs lineolium takes a lot of hits. That animal food is down there and often gets kicked out of the bowls. Plus whenever someone comes in they track in mud this time of the year. I need a new floro mat, but the way my door is angled it would be hard to do.

we used to have two cats and a weiner dog. Now it's just one cat and a weiner dog, but the remaining cat got fat enough for two.

I was about to say "what a sad story," and then you made me laugh.
