Maybe it's just because I use a Mac...but the new hope page is impossible to read - the background is so dark that the black writing just bleeds right into it.
...just saying!

Maybe it has something to do with the layered backgrounds. I don't even know how he did that. I don't understand it.

What browser are you using... hold on, let me check Safari...
Nope, it's looking okay is Safari as well.
Let me check Opera....
Looks alright there....
let me check amaya, which hardly views anything correctly....
Well, it puts the whole thing in a tiny column, but it doesn't have black text...
How about IE...
Looks good there...
How about... offbyone browser...
Doesn't show the backgrounds and it doesn't show the graphics right but it shows white text...
I could try Netscape, but that's the same as Firefox and I don't have it installed.....
I'm not sure what would be giving you the black text, unless you had options turned on to ALWAYS use the specified colors set in your preferences?
I wish I knew how to get it to do that on mine so I would know how to correct it.

I'm on Firefox.
I wish I knew how to capture the screen so I could show you.
It still shows up black on my monitor ... however, I see the capture that coyote posted, and it's very easy to read in white text.
Must just be my mac.

I don't know how you do a screen capture on a Mac, but on Windoze there's a button called Prt Scrn, which copies it to the clipboard. I would imagine there's some sort of Apple + combination that would do it.

What plugins/addons, if any, do you have installed with Firefox, and what do you have selected on the following option area:
Do you have the option "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"? I know there's the potential that they have the menuing a little different on the mac, but you should have that same option somewhere. Make sure it is checked.

If I could somehow get RealWorld Icon Editor to work beyond the trial period, I would have had one that was shaded better like a png instead of being more like a gif, but it works. I could probably make one for yours, like the eagle head or something if you wanted--but it will look much better when I can get a good program going that handles multiple levels of transparency.

yes - I just checked - my preferences say to let pages choose their own fonts instead of my selections (which look just like yours).
Oh, well. DOn't worry - not many people use Firefox anyway LOL

We both use FF. I think it must have something to do with the MAC.

| Quote: | | In Mac, there is an easy key combination to achieve the same effects and more. Simply hit the Command key (the Apple key next to the space bar), the Shift key, and the number 3 key simultaneously. This takes a screen shot of the current screen and saves it to the Desktop as a pdf file. |

That's what I was thinking when I read it. Most of the mac "quick keys" aren't so quick.
