Actually, no, he wasn't.
If I don't like a certain type of brand of cookie, but the statistics show that 85% of people who DO like them are of a particular race, does that make me racist?

Right, he was talking about the people who depend on public housing—a disproportionate number of whom are Black. If he's claiming he doesn't know this then he's either living in a dream world or he is falling for that blame-the-victim mentality. |
Thank you Arch, for pointing out your own ignorance and racism. You have proved without a shadow of a doubt that YOU are the bigot here, living in a dream.
Since I actually work a full time job, unlike yourself, and my job is in real estate and being a landlord, I know more than just the stats you find online to try to prove your shallow arguments. I actually have experience in reality. (Unlike people who sit online all day and snipe others with ignorant accusations.)
So let me explain to you why YOU are a bigot and why I WASN'T talking about BLACK PEOPLE.
I am an assistant manager for 84 Units of apartments spanning over 5 buildings in 3 locations. Of those 84 Units, 11 are paid for
through a DSHS program for legal immigrants who have come to America. 100% of these people we have in our apartment using this program are non-black. 100% are Russian, whiter looking than me. They are who had in mind when I was talking about my experience with public housing before, but since you are the bigot, you assumed I MUST be talking about black people. Great job, btw.
In a way, having the government pay for people's rent is a nice thing for us. It is sort of bitter sweet. On one hand, we know we will always have rent on time, which is nice as landlords trying to run a business. The flip side is of course that most of these families are pretty big and the dads, who don't work all day, are doing things like drinking in the parking lot, getting in confrontations with other people, getting in confrontations with their wives, (Hey I mean, it makes sense if you think about it-- spend too much time with anyone in a 2 bedroom apartment and it will be bad) and here is the worst one. Garbage, vandalism. It is pretty unreal. West Hill is significantly less units, and significantly more vandalism and garbage we have to pick up on a near DAILY basis.
The area where we have people's rent being paid for by the government is all in one area. The reason why it worked out this way is pretty simple: We rented to one person on a DSHS program and then he told other family and friends who also immigrated to Washington that it was a good place, and so they came too. We are at a legal obligation NOT TO REJECT people under this program, even if we wanted, HOWEVER, as I stated earlier, there are benefits to having people who will always have rent on time.
This is up on "West Hill." After 4th of July, there weren't that many fireworks at our other buildings. There was a TON of garbage though at our apartments on "West Hill." We are talking it was ridiculous. I am up there trying to clean fireworks, and while I am up there one of the dudes who is like 28 is trying to light used firework he found for his kids to see if they can still get it to do something. Our parking lot is COVERED in fireworks. Most of our tenants on West Hill are people living off the government who spent what seems like hundreds of dollars on fireworks, which are illegal in our area, let them off and DID NOT PICK UP AFTER THEMSELVES.
See, the problem Arch, which I am sure you are painfully unaware of since you don't live in reality or respect people who work for their money, is that regardless of their race, people do not treat their homes with the same kind of respect that people do when they pay rent. I am sure if I wanted to waste my time I could find thousands of stats that support this claim. People who live free off the government DO NOT APPRECIATE what they have like people who WORK for what they have. This isn't a race issue, like you wish it was (so you could actually be right,) but rather, an issue of giving people way too much free time, not any work, and oh yeah, a government handout.

Section 8 housing by far has the worst tenants at them. But I guess I'm racist for saying such things.
I'm sorry Arch, but you're really starting to remind me of that social worker on King of the Hill that wouldn't let Hank Hill fire the heroin addict kid and told him that his company needed to pay for the kid's rehabilitation as well as paying for work he wasn't doing. If you haven't watched that episode, try to get a hold of it. Please don't go down that road Arch. It's not becoming of anyone.
