I saw Ratatouille just a few moments ago. I originally thought it was going to be awful. It was actually really good. The music wasn't Disnified, the storyline was decent, for the type of movie it was anyway--the animation was fantastic.
One of the things I really liked visually about the movie was the way that they were able to capture a defined style even though it was computer animation. What I mean by that is--most of the time, the style of computer animated cartoons is--computer animation--the medium creates the style. Usually computer animated characters are overly-bouncy, shiny, and just computery. In this movie it seems more---more like perfectly accurate claymation or something. In this case, there was a LOT of art and caracactures that normally could only be achieved in 2d animation.
The voice acting was good too. The movie was impressive for the type of movie it was.
For the type of movie it was, I'd give it a 9, actually, on a scale of 1-10.
