| Quote: | RAWALPINDI, Pakistan -- Benazir Bhutto, the powerful opposition leader considered by many to be an alternative to the current Pakistani government, was assassinated Thursday at a campaign rally, threatening to throw this already divided country into deeper disarray.
Bhutto was speaking to thousands of supporters here when a man opened fire just after 5 p.m., hitting her in the neck and chest. The attacker then blew himself up, killing at least 20 others.
Bhutto was rushed to a hospital, where she died an hour later, officials said. Television showed her supporters taking to the streets, setting fires and breaking windows. |
This is really depressing. We REALLY need to stop worrying about Iran and get our priorities together.

The Pakistan situation is troubling. Its just not another crazy islamic nation blowing itself up - these guys have Nukes pointed at India. And if the country goes totally nuts - who has those nukes?
We may have to get involved in this if Musharef can't control it.

I wonder if Musharef had anything to do with it. I suppose he doesn't have to be.......yeah this totally sucks. I would like to make a suggestion, but I don't know what that would be.
I will definitely agree that this should be a bigger concern for us than Iran though. I feel especially concerned for India.
Also, if we were to be attacked by another terrorist, and it involved a nuke, I would bet hands down that it either came from Pakistan or Russia. Both for similar reasons, really. Iran isn't there yet, and North Korea is cooperating for the time being. Pakistan has just as many extremists, with more fire power. And Russia has a TON of saved up nukes from the cold war, and in many spots, a troubling economy.....(and a friendship with some of our enemies.)

Very true.
Chaos in the former Soviet nations and Pakistan are the big concerns of a nuke getting in the hands of terrorists. no question.
I have no evidence of this - but Musharef strikes me as the type to have Bhutto killed. Just a gut feeling.
