I never really liked Maxtor anyway, but Seagate is a large company and many people buy their stuff. Heads up!

That's weird. Do people actually hook up their hard drives without formatting them and then use them? Is there such a thing as pre-formatted hard drives? Why would someone use such a thing? I always repartition and format when I get a new hard drive. At least my habits are good. Smile

Seagate is-..... wait a minute.... when did that happen? When did Seagate buy Maxtor? Why would they buy such a crappy company? I sure hope seagate drives are still made like seagate drives and not maxtor. Wow. I just learned two things.

Usually, one would assume a NEW drive would be clean, thus there not being a need to be paranoid. It's not as if you were buying it used from joe blow.

Yeah, but don't most people format their drives when they get them? This is very odd to me. I still can't find any articles about it that explain this further.
