OK, I can't resist an opportunity for self flagellation.
I mean self promotion.

YEWPP is very pleasant to the eyes. I didn't even realize it was a forum until I looked at some of the options.
The tech4teachers site uses icons and graphics that feel like "learning" without going bubbly-cutsey with it.
I shouldn't be allowed to comment about AmericanPoliticsForum.... I really like it.
RSD Support is visually interesting and the general layout is intuitive even though it appears so differently. However, that main pattern in the background is too busy for being such a small image to tile. If the tiled image was either larger or if the image was smoothed out a little more (there's a trick I can tell you about on how to smooth that in photoshop in a way that makes it tile perfectly) it would really make that look great.
this is the image
What's strange about this image is the fact that it is so long when the loop of it would make it more like this
But I think it would look better like this:
Then again, I haven't really tested it, so maybe it would look like crap....
I like the logo for glassrattler, although the site looks pretty standard--but the logo really makes it.

Isn't that design for YEWPP beautiful? I wish I could claim credit for it. They gave me that design to work with and I had to adapt subSilver to replicate it exactly.
As far as that tiling image from RSD Support...that template was designed for 1024x768 with no portal, so I had to adapt that too. There were originally a couple more graphics that overlaid that tile at specific points to break it up, but I had to remove them when I put the portal in. I'm going to try your smaller image, though.

Cool. I thought that would look a lot better. It's really a great looking site.
