I saw it! Now, I am aware that it isn't a movie target at my age group or gender, but....

It was an excellent movie. A truly excellent movie. This is disney at its best, reminiscent of a time when Disney used to completely dominate kids films-- reminiscent of when they made good kids films. Very good, and as an adult, very very funny. What makes it so funny? Unlike shrek, (and most other kids films these days), there were no underlying messages targeted at adults. Almost every kids film, if you are an adult, has lewd references. I don't know why. Maybe they think it will be better for the adults taking their kids to the movie....

anyway, the fact that it DOESN'T have any lewd references, but plays out like the characters are really part of the story and really believe what they are saying, makes the over-the-top corny scenes HILARIOUS. Really very funny. I haven't laughed so hard since Borat! There is this one section midway through where it breaks into this huge dance and sing extravaganza that last like 15 minutes....and OH MY GOODNESS IS IT OVER THE TOP, but in the most hilarious way possible, through the eyes of an adult anyway.

If I had a daughter, this is the movie I would take her to see. It is fun, adventurous, well scripted, mostly original (which these days is rare in kids movies), and has surprisingly good acting.

My girlfriend DID NOT want to see this movie. I had to scream, nag, and cry like a baby. But once I got her in there, she agreed it was quite the movie. Quite the movie indeed!

It's good to know that once in a while they actually are still capable of getting things right. I'll consider this.
