As much as I like Johnny Depp and Tim Burton, I don't like it when I hear about attempts at price gouging by media giants.

"This decision was reluctantly reached because the price requested by Paramount to show the film in Marcus Theatres was too expensive in the opinion of our film buyers." |
I actually respect Marcus theaters for their decision.
What do you think?

Good of them to stick to their principles. If they don't, the prices is going to just keep rising. Unfortuntately, I wonder if they are big enough of a chain to hurt paramount's business. I have never even heard of them. All the theaters around here are either AMC or Regal.

From their website, http://www.marcustheatres.com/index_sub.cfm?pageid=subpages/marcusstory.htm
| Quote: | Marcus Theatres currently owns or manages about 500 screens at locations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Ohio, and one family entertainment center in Wisconsin.
Marcus Theatres? facilities are leaders in their markets, offering the latest amenities and technology including stadium seating and digital sound. The company serves moviegoers in major markets including Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin, the Twin Cities, greater Chicago and Columbus, Ohio. |
So they're not huge, but they're not tiny either. They just don't have any around here.
