I find this index to be interesting.

Those damn 70's. Smile

Looks like this can't be blamed on Reagan, Carter, or Ford--it sort of looks like it was during the Nixon administration that things started to take a downward turn.

What I find so interesting about this chart is that it is reflective of when things shifted from quality to quantity. It's when cars started being made like crap, it's when commercialization kicked into overdrive, when it really started to change is when hair bands were becoming popular. It makes me wonder if there really may be a correlation between all of those things. It's all just me trying to find patterns where there may not be any.

remember that the retail report is almost always good and is usually led by Wally world. But think about that, they have food in the store and people are always gonna need food and that makes wally world lkook more solid than it may be.

I'd say yes to the connection of quality decline, but no to the hair bands.

I am saying that all the economic stats are tweeked gto make the best face possible. like manufacturing jobs--now working in a fast food outlest is considered manufacturing.
