If I recall, we called the Iraqis all kind of names becazuse they went on break when there was important stuff to be done.

WASHINGTON -- Congress left for its Thanksgiving break Friday without passing a bill to pay for the war in Iraq after the Senate deadlocked over a Democratic demand that the measure include a call for most troops to be withdrawn by the end of next year.

As they have all year, Senate Democrats failed to muster the votes to consider a proposal to condition further spending on a timeline for withdrawing troops. The $50-billion bill, which narrowly passed the House on Wednesday, failed by seven votes.

If democrats think they're going to keep their jobs/positions after their consistent lack of a backbone on vitally important issues, they're out of their minds.

Well isn't that special. That's so kind of them.

Seriously! I am getting pretty tired of the withdrawal effort actually doing damage to the welfare of the troops. Two weeks off! I sure hope that does not mean that funding for the troops stops until they figure something out. I am absolutely against the War in Iraq, but with that said, do not support yanking their funding until they are brought home. What good is that? Don't make the troops suffer even more. Grrr. Sad

It looks like their plan is to withhold funding will force more troops to be brought hime sooner. At least that seems to be the plan.

To me, it just seems like laziness and lack of a backbone.
