Nearly 19,000 people died nationwide from MSRA infection in 2005, according to the federal Centers for Disease Control.
I'm trying to find a single article that doesn't mention this as something that is something that is especially a problem in male gay communities, particularly the gay community in San Francisco.

To see a whole bunch of stories on this subject. Why is it that it effects gay men more than other communities, sexually active communities?

I don't know what it's about, but the Concerned Women of America are on it like white on rice... Calling for a revolt against homos and such.

This is nuts! I'm wondering what this is going to mean to the gay community.

| Quote: | Dr. Chip Chambers, who co-authored the study, explained simple ways to avoid the spread of the staph infection. "Taking a shower after sexual contact may minimize contamination. Ordinary soap will do. It dilutes the concentration of bacteria. You don't need antibacterial soap."
"Your likelihood of contracting each of these diseases increases with the number of sexual partners that you have," Diep explained to Reuters. |

So, I guess the bathhouse/sex-club dwellers will be affected the most... unless they do it in the shower...
