This is a short article, and I don't want to quote too much of it to have a copyright issue going on, so I've just quoted this part:
| Quote: | Duke University had trained two monkeys to walk on two feet on treadmills. The activity of the animals' hundreds of neurons was recorded from their cortex and converted into data that could be transmitted online.
"We can say that we have made another big step to the realisation of a neural prosthetic device that could one day restore lower limb motor functions for paralysed patients," the statement said. |
This is quite the breakthrough! We may find as well that our brains can control many other types of things, and even learn about the potential to increase brain activity and expand the usage of the brain into areas that we normally don't use. Cool stuff.
Borg, here we come??
