Who uses candles at home. Either for "atmosphere", aroma, or to cover odors? And, how often do you use them?

I don't. I'd rather not have burning open fires in my house, and I don't like the smell anyway. Rarely, if ever.

No way. Terrible for asthma and full of carcinogens that cause cancer. I like the IDEA of candles, and the look-- but it isn't worth the fire risk, the asthma, or the cancer risks.

I use them if there is a power outage.

Constantly. I love to have a welcoming smell to my home.

Incense--I like burning incense, particularly Nag Champa, once in a while, but I can't do that where I live now.

There's an oil that I like that most people absolutely despise--I mean people DESPISE it, and I probably got to liking it when I went through my hippie period. Yep, you probably guessed it--Patchouli. But I also like vanilla, or cinnamon, or one that is sometimes used in candles but is also an oil called "spice" that smells kind-of like pumpkin pie spice.

We use candles quite often at home. I suppose someone has done a study on their dangers as well.

There are a number of health dangers associated with candles--it all depends on the type of wax, and it depends on what the wick is made from.

Mark's not posting in this one. I guess his ploy to ensnare us in a little trap didn't work. =D
But I outsmurfed you.

Eh--he was hoping. It was posted in Health and Medicine.

It's an interesting subject though. What ARE the health problems associated with candle usage?

I can sure easily find silly articles like ones entitled: "Now Color Of Candles Will Cure Your Health Problems"

As far as the wicks though--some contain lead, and burning lead isn't really very healthy. Mmmm... breathe deeply when soldering. Ahhhhh!

Hey Tech: No, Mark has got something called a "life". Get one, you'll like it.

Now, for the trap... Hmmm. I seemed to have forgotten what my trap was? Oops, silly me, there was no trap.
