Wanted to know if you could recommend any software to me for downloading torrents. I tried to make limewire my default torrent downloader, but for some reason I can't get it to work on pirate bay. Any recommendations? I am trying to get a super rare LP on file that was never brought over to tape or cd.

WEll, to quote wikipedia
| Quote: | | BitTorrent is a method of distributing large amounts of data widely without the original distributor incurring the entire costs of hardware, hosting and bandwidth resources. |
Basically, it is a system that works as a portal to downloading various content and large files-- a way of file sharing. It isn't always illegal content. A lot of people share their own music and stuff this way.

For the record though, I much prefer when someone sends me a megaupload link over a torrent. For one, you have to download a torrent and open it-- and there have to be "seeders"-- other people online keeping it open while you download it. If someone leaves in the middle of a download, you are screwed. Megaupload isn't that way.
Also, torrents log your IP info. And I got virused REALLY REALLY badly one time (80 viruses) from a torrent before. I couldn't believe it!
I am sure kizzume can explain it better than I can because I don't really understand how torrents work other than what I already said and experienced.

For the record, I found what I was looking for through googling the name and 'megaupload.' As usual, this method works way ebtter for me than torrents.

Do you scan the torrents before you run them? I do. I usually do a multi-scan from fix-it and norton, but I guess you can/t be too sure. I know I ...err...'bought" dawn of war like that =D

I always scan stuff before I run it--in fact, if it's a small file, I right click and do a "run as" when I run it the first time, just in case.
