You know what though--I think my whole thing about "it kind of shows" reflects on the way I treat you, Technocrat, so I guess I'm calling the kettle black. I'll try to be better about that.

Hey Kizz: This chart from WHO shows a range that fits nicely with the charts I provided earlier.

Well, even though I hate cigarettes, after seeing what some people are trying to push through--the bill that would ban fat people from restaurants, and the fact that there are places where B.O. is illegal, and some cities have BANNED trans-fats, it really started to show me that this idea of dictating the way people live is just not cool at all.

I have changed my position on the issue of smoking indoors--even the ventilation standard thing. I no longer support it and believe that the less we do to tell people how to live, the better.

The part that hit home for me the most was the "illegal B.O." thing: I'm allergic to 99% of deodorants, and the ones I'm not allergic to don't really work worth a damn--the only one that seems to work OK is the salt-stone deodorant, but that only works for a few hours, and if I use it for more than 3 days, it stops working until I take a break for a few days, and that problem has gotten much worse since I quit marijuana. I don't want to be told that I HAVE to use THIS product or that product, nor do I want to be told that I CAN'T use THIS product or THAT product, so to be consistent, and as to not support things that can cause a--well--a slippery slope of legislation, I just can't support telling people they can't smoke.

I will say, however, that I REALLY HATE cigarettes and think they're one of the most stupid habits someone can have. I still can't believe that a several-hours soaking in bleach-water, the rubbery case to my cellphone still smells like cigarettes after I was the doorman at a place that allows smoking last night.
