Parents that force their kids to dress nerdy

As much as I don't like the gangster-inspired clothing that's out there and still popular, I think it's better to have that look than to have a look like what some parents do to their kids:

There are some parents who make their kids jack their pants up all Erkle-style with a belt and always tuck in and they have to wear slacks and a button-up shirt. Then there's the extreme of that where parents make their kids wear a suit and tie or if they're a girl they have to wear a dress that falls below the knees, even when going grocery shopping. (And if they ever get fat, their parents' demands will have deformed their bodies by putting a permanent indent from the waist of the pants into their bellies so it looks like they have two bellies instead of one).

I don't really understand how parents can be that uninterested in having their kids learn about socializing, making friends, and living with the rest of the world instead of having useless traditions they force on their kids and act like they're better than everyone else for having.

Dress codes at schools are one thing, but to make your kids look like a professional nerd when they go out anywhere is lame.

How do you feel about this?

Another case of two extremes.

Somewhere between is perfectly acceptable.

Of course, I am older, and when I was in school, the style was to wear pants so tight that you could count the hairs. We had our junk all pushed forward and sitting there like an offering at a buffet. LOL I used to have to lay down on my bed to get my pants zipped. LOL And that was only a 2" zipper, because the pants were also hip huggers and barely covered the crotch. LOL

Kids will always find outrageous ways to flaunt their fashion trends.

I hate the half-off-the-ass look - and I don't know why they are so determined to look decidedly UNsexy - but I don't really care. They'll grow out of it.

Good to know that some good things actually come back in style Smile

I love the look of tight low-rise jeans. We've got the low-rises back, now we need to get the tight jeans back. Okay, so I like tighter-fitting skin-showing clothing on guys, what can I say?

Butt seriously, I really enjoy the fantasy-like idea of men being the ones being able to start showing a little more skin and the women showing less to the point where both genders are showing about an equal amount of skin and wearing more close-fitting clothing as a regular thing. I'm going to make another thread about that though....
