Portal "Still Alive"

Well this is in Games, although it could still go in music as well.

Portal by Valve has easily the coolest song in modern videogames. The song is called "Still Alive" and is run at the end credits. It contains minor spoilers for the game, so for the spoiler paranoid out there, it would probably be advisable to play through the game and earn the ending before searching for the song on YouTube or the internet. It isn't hard, and since the core game is only about 4 hours long, the work is definitely worth it.

Portal itself is an incredible game, and the song at the end only adds to the magnitude of awesome that exudes from the game. The song is sung by Ellen McLain, who is a classically trained opera singer who did several voices for Valve including the voice of Overwatch in Half Life 2.

The song is a real treat and just a little searching will reveal several movies of the Portal ending sequence. I implore you though, play the game, it is worth the price of the Orange box alone (for me anyways) and is an incredible game.

But I still think the song is best.

Just my opinion.

I'll be on the lookout for that. Some of the music that has influenced me the most has been game music.

Here's a youtube of it. Great song for sure. I heard it for the first time yesterday, I still haven't beaten portal yet. I suck at puzzles. I'm on test chamber 8. Sad

Oh wow, if you're stuck on chamber 8 you're going to have a tough time in the later areas to be sure. 8 is still considered a training chamber. 13 is the first real puzzle chamber and it only gets harder from there. 18 and 19 are monsters, and the advanced levels are pure hell.

Oh, and have fun with the turrets, they are the cutest deadly things I've ever seen.

I think it's 8. The one where you have to keep making portals for the energy ball to get to the goal.
