Why is it that old commercials end up bringing up more memories than old shows?

I just love old commercials like these. I think I've seen all of them, but it doesn't matter, I like them anyway.

That HBO tune has been playing in my head off and on since it was new. That didn't come out right, it's not that miserable. I kind of like it.
