To me, either schools should let kids wear what they want, OR they should have a uniform. To me, anything inbetween causes a lot of problems. What do you think?

I support school uniforms for at least one reason: it prepares them for reality outside of school where most jobs require some form of uniform. At the least, there ought to be an enforced dress code if only to help train them for the future positions where there will be one.
I haven't looked into it this far, but it might also cut down on distractions. I will have to research it. I usually don't get involved in those type of educational issues. They said it saves parents money, but I don't really know if that is true.

If the outfits don't cost parents any more than a thrift store outfit, that might be the case.
