Today is my day 1 attempt at quitting weed. Wish me luck. Gotta start somewhere. I made the decision 3 days ago, last night was the final night for doing herb, at least according to my plans. We'll see how well I can keep with my plan.

The next two weeks are going to be interesting as far as keeping nutrition in me. After that, I'll probably start getting fat again, as I'll probably be replacing smoking weed with eating, like last time when I gained 50 pounds--but I'd prefer to be fat and ravenous ALL the time, happy, and drug free than to continue being a weed addict, thin, miserable, and destroying the longevity of my vocal cords. And besides, when I was heavier, my lower vocal range had a much larger resonance to it.

You don't like cigarette smoke, but you smoke weed?

Wow.

I'd only mentioned it about a dozen times during the debates about cigarettes. This was news to you? Oh well. Sad

Well, I'm now starting to deal with what I'm going to have to deal with for the next week or two--feeling queasy-sick. I'll probably have to deal with this for 1-2 weeks, and then it's back to being ravenous all the time once the majority of it is out of my system. I hate feeling sick.

Oh yes, and the other part is coming into place now--

That feeling like I HAVE to do something right now, like time, even seconds, are of the utmost importance, and how am I going to fill that time, what is going to happen over the next 10 minutes? And the the boredom part starts to kick in. It would be so easy for me right now to just say, "Why don't I go make a drink." or something like that--no, I can't do that as the answer--I don't need to become an alcoholic in the process of quitting weed.

Anyone who says quitting weed is EASY must not have had a problem with it. They must not be an addict, they must not be the type that wakes-and-bakes every day. I definitely have a problem with it.

Hey Kizz: The addiction thing doesn't work for me. I smoke now, occasionally, to quit is easy. About eight years ago, two of muy buddies and I quit smoking and drinking. I was the only one that lasted for the whole year. Never had the "urge". After the year was up, I smoked and drank again because I liked it.

BTW, doesn't weed smoke make your clothes and stuff all stinky too?

Not very much, and the smell that remains doesn't smell like an ashtray. When I smoke weed, I smoke right in front of a fan that blows on high, pointed outside, and blow it directly into the fan. If I happen to be outside and blow out and it causes a cloud, I walk away from the area until the cloud has dissipated. I can't say I've ever seen smokers do that--they blow a big-ol-cloud and then just stand in it while I watch the smoke go right into their hair.

Hmm, I think Weed smells pretty strong-- but in all honesty, it is a much more pleasant smell than cigarette smoke.

Anyway, I won't be around tonight, but let me just say, Good luck buddy! I know you can do it! And I think it is a wise choice on your part to quit. Think how much money you can save and put toward your music! And music is WAY sweeter than weed.

Even if you only smoked a $20 sack a week, that is still $80 a month that could go to financing something really badass like a modular synth. (I don't know what that actually is, I just heard Trent once get asked about what kind he uses in an interview.)

The money part is going to be quite nice. I'll be able to do all the computer upgrades I've been wanting to for so long, and I'll be able to buy the cordless mic I want for shows, and a number of other things.

You know, even if I were to smell like a STALE ASHTRAY, that is preferable to the smell of weed. Gag...

Well, nobody has seen me demand that I be allowed to smoke it in public places, so there's no point to be made.

Well, I attempted at going to an NA meeting today and walked back to my vehicle when they decided that they need to stop the meeting 15 minutes into it so everyone can have a cigarette break.

I'm not going to sit in some meeting where everyone is saying "We've quit ALL drugs, Narcotics Anonymous is about quitting ALL drugs--alcohol is a drug!" while 99.9% of the people attending the meetings can't go an hour without a cigarette, they mandate designated times for everyone to go smoke their drugs (nicotine), and about 90% of them have to get coffee refills during the meeting.

I don't know about you, but if a place is saying it is supposed to be for helping people quit ALL drugs, at least ones that aren't prescribed to them by doctors, how can they do the cigarette thing and try to act like it's not a drug too?

I don't think people should be able to say "I'm 20 years clean" if they smoke cigarettes. It's a bunch of BS!

This is one of the things that pisses me off about the cigarette smoker's mindset. Oh, it's cigarettes, so it's different--NO, it isn't! It ISN'T different! This is part of that mindset that really pisses me off about so many smokers--it's like they feel it's as good, just, and normal as eating food. It just boggles my mind.

Why are SO MANY cigarette smokers so fucking arrogant about their habit? How can they feel it's just SOOOOOO much different than the other drugs? Because they can be high on cigarettes and still be allowed to go back to work? Why is that? Why are cigarettes NOT looked at as what they are. They're drugs.

Oh well. I just don't think I'll be using the NA route--it's too religious anyway.

1) It's legal.

2) It doesn't impair judgment

3) It's legal

I wasn't trying to make a point earlier about the smell of weed. I was just saying that it makes me want to gag. I lived in an apartment complex where the neighbors smoked it and as much as my roommate and I smoked the smell of weed wofted through our apartment...
